Tiger Woods takes aim at another Masters title

It was 10 years ago -- how time flies -- that a rising golf star named Tiger Woods "mastered" Augusta on the way to becoming the youngest Masters champion, smoking the field by 12 shots on the way to establishing 20 Masters records and winning his first green jacket with a record-breaking 18-under-par score.

Tiger Woods has added 11 major championships to his list of tour victories and is professional golf's dominant figure. Last year Phil Mickleson ursurped the Masters title as Tiger Woods struggled with the concept it could be the last Masters his cancer-stricken father would witness -- and it was.

"I lost a father and then I'm going to become a father, so it's two different places in my life," Tiger Woods said Wednesday. "My whole life has changed and it's been a pretty dynamic change, the entire process, the last 10 years."

Earl Woods died last May, making this the world No.1's first trip back to Augusta without his father and mentor.

And in July, Elin Woods is due to give birth to their first child.

"Our whole priority is obviously to raise our child," he said. "Certainly it will be more difficult to try and prepare.

"It's our responsibility to try and raise it as best we possibly can and that's going to require a lot of energy," he added. "I don't know because I've never gone through it before. I don't know how my preparation is going to change or not."

Tiger Woods said there have been some major changes to his golf game, too.

"I was certainly raw in 1997 with my course management skills, my shot variety. I didn't really have too many shots," he said.

"I didn't really have the trajectory control that I do now.

"And certainly I didn't have the 10 years of experience of playing out here on tour and learning how to manage my game as well as I do now."
